About Us

I, Judy and Paul Pinto are the owners of the Priyamahal Indian Restaurant. Paul Pinto is a chef by profession, he has been in this trade for 20 years. He has gained vast and wide experience under his belt which took him to countries starting from India, Dubai, Germany, Australia (Sydney,Port Macquarie,Tamworth).

Paul did his hotel management from the reputed Institute of Hotel Management,Cadel Road,Dadar, Mumbai (then called Bombay), India. He started working with Taj Intercontinental in Mumbai, then he moved onto better his career and went to work for Hilton in Dubai then Germany and later in Sydney. He was basically a continental chef. He moved onto Indian cuisine when he decided to become an entrepreneur and the move to Port Macquarie to open his own restaurant was his biggest trump card.He became a successful businessman. All locals and tourists loved his food.He catered to the Australian palate. Wherever he went he was termed the best Indian chef. Paul holds a degree in Master of Business Administration in Tourism and Hospitality from the prestigious Southern Cross University in Lismore, Australia.

The restaurant is named after our daugher, Priyanka. She represents the restaurant really well and appears in every ad of the restaurant. I help Paul in looking after the guests and providing friendly service. I am also a Computer professional and have designed this website.Currently we are running the lovely and beautiful Priyamahal Indian Restaurant in Tamworth successfully. We are very popular for our friendly and prompt service and above all the lovely and fabulous meals - whether you want it mild, medium or hot.You get what you want and its value for money. We have been running the restaurant since past 14 years in Tamworth.


Location

The Priyamahal Indian Restaurant is located in Tamworth, between Sydney and Brisbane on the New England Highway also called the Goonoo Goonoo Road. The restaurant is located amongst numerous motels right on the roundabout where Scotts Road coming from town and Vera Street meet.

Tamworth is famous for the Country Music Festival held in January every year for about 10 days. Quite a few celebrities have graced the Priyamahal Indian Restaurant like Brendan Walmsley,Paul McCleod, John Williamson,Colin Buchanan, Bobby Cash - the Indian Cowboy, Melinda Schneider, Andrew Clermont, Gina Jeffreys and many more during this festival. They have all given a thumbs up to the restaurant.
